My story

My journey started 7 years ago with a pesky condition called MGUS. Dr Google was massively overused and, within 6 months, I had convinced myself I was going to be dead in 5 years! 🙈

Myeloma = terminal = 5 years = dead. 🤦‍♀️😂

A very supportive Elton (who told me to “wo-man up” 😂), my family and friends who have been with me every step of the way, always offering a listening ear… and the occasional tissue! ❤️

Luckily, I have regular check-ups for my smouldering myeloma and I’m currently on “watch and wait”, so no treatment is required at the moment.

When my head was falling off, my coping strategy was to start exercising and running — so it feels very fitting to take on this challenge. 🏃‍♀️

Fast forward 5 years and I’m much more optimistic, realistic and positive about the future. This is definitely not a pity party! 🎉

I really want to do my little bit to support everyone affected by blood cancer and help fund vital research into better treatments and, ultimately, a cure.
